Evan

Evan is six months today... six months have already gone by.  It is amazing how much babies change their first year.  Last week Evan got his first two teeth, it has made him a little grumpy.  I feel like everyday I wake-up and he looks a little different.  I can't express the love I have for this baby boy!  It is such a blessing to be a mother.

Happy 29th Birthday Karla!

I met Karla in 7th grade French class... around 16 years ago.  Wow, that really makes me feel kinda old.  It has been over 5 years since we have lived by each other and yet we have maintained a friendship that couldn't be closer.  Thanks for being the friend that you are Karla, I love you and hope you have a fabulous 29th birthday.

Happy Birthday Avery!

Last Saturday we had a princess party for Avery.
Kayla & Avery got to wear the dresses they have been working so hard to earn.  I saw them at Marshall's and knew they would love them for Halloween but decided they had to fill a reward chart in order to have them... it has been a great positive motivator in our home.

I had all the little princesses get their picture by the castle and then had them take it home in a frame.  I was excited because they turned out pretty cute.
I have to thank Laurie for all her help with the party.  I learned this year with doing home parties you really need quite a few adults to help.

Avery got a ton of great toys... thank you Grandma's & Grandpa's for sending such fun things too!
Today was Avery's actual birthday so we had to at least have cake and ice cream... thank you yet again Laurie and Brent for always letting us hang out at your home.  I really don't know what we will do when we don't live four houses down.
HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY AVERY! WE LOVE YOU!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME

Saturday evening we drove up to Denver and went to a Rockies game.  Our friend had given us free tickets and we figured it would be a fun family outing.  I'll admit that I would never watch a baseball game on T.V. but I enjoy going to pretty much any sports event.  The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was great... and I even watched some of the game, who knew.  Evan has gotten into the phase of grabbing EVERYTHING, just look at the pic's.  Driving home we went past the Invesco Field, where the Bronco's play.  I hope we get a chance to go there while we live here.

No more training wheels!

Ever since the start of the summer when Kayla learned how to ride without training wheels Avery has been wanting to learn too.

Finally a few weeks ago Spence went and practiced with her and before we knew it she was riding by herself.

Avery is proud that she learned how to ride her "two wheeler" before her fourth birthday.

Yeah, now the girls love riding together!

Does this seem familiar?

This picture has kept coming to mind lately when thinking of life.  I feel like things get so crazy so easily.  Isn't it a perfect description... always trying to keep everything balanced.  I love the artist, James Christensen, he reminds me of my childhood.  My parents have one of his paintings above their fireplace.

What Avery is UP to now...

Here is Avery doing a beautiful job painting... it entertained her for about 20 minutes.  Make note of her fashion statement, her headband that is mine but she just had to wear it.

I know at first glance it is hard to see my little tree climber, that is why I put picture #2.

At this point of the day she is on outfit five or six... depending on her mood.  Well, this is what my days are filled with, a little girl who I wish I could have half of her energy.  I don't know why I worried about her being entertained, she seems to find plenty to keep her busy.  And if she gets tired there is always Evan to play with, right.  I have had to make a rule to never leave her alone with him after finding her twice holding Evan upside down.   "It's okay Mom, we are just playing,"  she tells me as I freak out.  I'll tell you what, he is going to be one tough little guy if he survives "playing" with Avery.
