The Sand Dunes

Who knew there was a Sand Dunes National Park... I didn't, until we got there.  In 

our effort to see different places in Colorado, we decide to go to the dunes.  A place

we kept hearing about from different people.  This time a year it has a shallow

stream running through it due to the snow melt, so it is a great time to go.  

It was a trip full of moments good and bad.  We had great company and beautiful

scenery, but anyone who has been around sand knows it gets into everything... 

food, clothes, body parts.  With a little wind it also doesn't feel great!  But it is a blast 

to play in for a while.  Poor Evan ran out of clothes by the end of the day.  I thought

I packed plenty, but little bodies can poop out of everything.  I am glad we went 

and glad I can mark it off as another place we have seen! 

 

No Fear

From the time Avery  could climb she seemed to have no fear of things.  I would find her on top of a shelf even above the fridge.  Now as she gets older it seems she is still fearless.  Today we went horseback riding at a friends house.  Not having much experience with horses, I was nervous for my girls to ride alone on such a big animal.  Not Avery, she wanted to ride alone and kept trying to get the horse to go faster and faster.  (I am a little leery of what this might bring in our future.)  Kayla has a more reserved personality, but she too was pretty daring today.  I have a feeling my girls might want a pony for their next birthday... to bad that will never happen.

Evan's Blessing Day

Moab

We stayed in Moab for two nights on our way to visit family. Spencer and I love going and wanted to try taking the kids. I was a little nervous to see how they would do hiking. It turned out really fun, the girls did great. I think walking through the stream kept them entertained. Though we didn't get to do the biking and other stuff we love, it was fun to try out new things for our kids. We played at a park that I had seen a million times and never stopped. I love that our girls are getting to a age we can take them more places and start trying new things with them.

A day at the Zoo

It is Summer!

It is here! Kayla had her last day of school. (It was freezing and really windy, but nevertheless, summer is here!) We had to celebrate by going somewhere really classy... so we went to Chucky Cheese's, I know you are jealous. Then on Saturday we tried out fishing at a close by lake. It was beautiful. Kayla and her friend Hunter caught a fish which made it really exciting for all of us! Happy Days!
